A Commander of Military Strategy, A Trusted Senior Retainer

A brave and courageous warrior who was born the same year as Honda Tadakatsu, was born in the same year and always led the charge on the battlefield.

Tokugawa Ieyasu himself praised him, saying, “When it comes to military strategy, ask Yasumasa.”

Not only known for his military prowess, but he was also a skilled calligrapher. During the Battle of Komaki and Nagakute, he wrote a memorial criticizing Toyotomi Hideyoshi. The contents were so vehemently critical that Hideyoshi, enraged, placed a bounty of 100,000 koku on his head. (equivalent to a vast fortune at the time)
