Portrait of Tokugawa Ieyasu from the Mikatagahara Campaign

This portrait was allegedly painted by Ieyasu after his narrow escape to Hamamatsu Castle. His face reflects the pain and frustration of the defeat. Ieyasu carried this portrait with him throughout his life as a reminder and a lesson to himself.
